In a bid to curb the menace of the use of Illicit drugs, the Head of Local Government Administration, Yala LGA, Mrs Cecilia Ogah, has created an operational office for the officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies at the council secretariat in Okpoma, Yala LGA of Cross River State.
The HOLGA, stated this during a one day sensitisation workshop/rally with the theme Choose Life Campaign Against the use of Illicit substances by the Edrah Foundation Health Division in Okuku, a commercial hub of Yala LGA.
Mrs Ogah, who was represented by a senior official in the council, Mr Simon Ekaji commended the organisers of the sensitisation workshop, saying government is concerned and determined to bring the cases of use of Illicit substances to the barest minimum.
She noted that the fight against drug abuse is all encompassing and needs all hands to be on desk to tackle it and stamp it out of Yala Local Government Area in particular and Cross River State at large.
